I was an award winning child artist and then a deeply depressed and blocked teen/young adult who couldn’t create. Downtrodden by the miseries of American adolescence, I left my hometown of Houston, TX to live on a kibbutz in Israel for almost a year at the age of 15. But travel didn’t help.
